REID SPEED (Los Angeles, CA)
Intergalactic Earpussy PlayMe Records PlayMe Too Bass Boss
Reid Speed has been a dancefloor destroyer for over a decade and is recognized worldwide as a pioneer of multi-genre genre bass music DJing. Since 2001 she has released a consistent stream of well loved mix compilations and has had many top 50 Beatport charting original and group productions/remixes. She is currently most known for founding US bass music labels Play Me Records and Play Me Too. 201...
1 saw her produce and co-headline the US portion of the groundbreaking Play Me Records Bass Monster Tour with FS & Cyberoptics, which received a tremendous stateside response and was sponsored by Beatport. The tour spawned a #2 charting hit of the same name by Reid & FS as well as their "Pussy Weed Money" Remix of Cold Blank's "Die Famous" for Burn the Fire which also clocked in at #2. Reid & FS's recent track "To The Sky" has been licensed to Nike and Lenovo for campaigns in 2012.
In just over 3 years, the Play Me Records and Play Me Too brand has indisputably taken the North American dubstep scene and the Beatport charts by storm, with a string of #1s, over 25 top 10s, and nearly every release charting in the top 100. They have broken more new artists than any other label of its kind, helping to launch the careers of artists like Cyberoptics, FS, J. Rabbit, Figure, Run DMT, and Bare, to name just a few. 2010 saw Play Me Records voted Dubstep Label of the Year by Beatport and Symphonic Distribution, and 2011 and 2012 have seen similar accolades.
Reid got her start in the New York City underground working behind the counter at the legendary Breakbeat Science record store. A chance trip to the UK in the summer of '97 led to her love affair with 2 step and speed garage. As one of the first US DJs to champion these genres (which morphed into todays's fidget house and dubstep), both Reid and Play Me's steady climb come as no surprise to those who know her history. Soon after she began DJing full time she was holding residencies with Stuck on Earth, Direct Drive & Camouflage. She cut her teeth playing raves, often to crowds of thousands, venues like the Limelight, as well as underground club nights while still in college at the School of Visual Arts. Producing her own tracks soon after, she was also involved in a seminal series of parties that introduced artists like Deekline, MJ Cole, & Stanton Warriors to the NYC underground. Signing to Breakbeat Science's label in 2001, she released her first mix "Resonance" to much critical acclaim, and successfully followed it up with 2003's "Life After Dark", and 2009's "Under The Influence" for Moist Music. On tours with artists like Om's Ming & FS and Colette, Dirtybird's J-Phlip, as well as on her own CD release tours, she had dialed in a precise ability to read and control crowds while flying seamlessly through BPMs. Those who have seen her live, listened to her mixes agree: whether taking the party to the next level, in the studio, or as a label boss, Reid has always forged a highly charged, forward-thinking path all her own.

DIRT MONKEY VS. ISHE (Denver, CO)
Sub.Mission PlayMe Records VCR
(DIRT MONKEY) Based out of Boulder, Patrick “Dirt Monkey”
Megeath has been producing for nearly 10
years, starting with hip-hop and breaks before
discovering his passion for dubstep. With a
keen ear for bass and a vast knowledge of
music production, he has quickly exploded
onto the scene with his innovative original
productions and energetic stage presence.
Support for Dirt Monkey has been shown by
Excision, Downlink, Reid Speed, Antiserum, DZ,
Jantsen, Cyberoptics, Metaphase, Helicopter
Showdown, Filth Collins and Total Recall. You
can expect to see a lot of Dirt Monkey this
year, with plenty of shows planned and a ton
of new material slated for release
(ISHE) Denver is the fourth biggest market on Earth for
dubstep, and Ishe is Denver’s dubstep don.
No other Mile High clubber slays for both
Westword “Best Promoter” Sub.mission and “Best
Monthly Party” Whomp Truck. No other Coloradan
is as animated at the helm, either. Ishe, to the
faces he’s melted (after a Dr. Seuss character),
boasts a decade and a half behind the decks, and
his serious experience shows. Anyone involved
with Colorado’s EDM scene has witnessed his
wicked mixing and track selection firsthand, as
he’s perpetually booked at both underground
and massive events on a weekly basis. Beta,
the number one club in North America, recently
made him a Bassic Fridays resident. The biggest
electronica festivals on the circuit, from Electric
Daisy Carnival to Skylab, beat Beta to the punch
in that department, though. Kansas City, Lincoln,
Detroit, Las Vegas and Salt Lake are fans, thanks
to a slew of out-of-state outings and a recent slot
on the Global Dub Festival lineup alongside the
likes of Freq Nasty, Mimosa, and Benga. Opening
slots for N-Type, Hatcha, and Cotti have further
showcased this veteran’s flexibility and depth
behind the decks.
Releases on Velcro City Records, Snatchy Trax,
and L.A.-based powerhouse Play Me Records
regularly crack Beatport’s dubstep charts, with the
2011 Dirt Monkey collab “Flaunt It” peaking at #15.
With a full length-album with Dirt Monkey set for
release in March 2012 for Play Me, and a bagful of
originals and remixes set to drop over the coming
year, Denver’s dubstep don is certainly on a roll.
