*******DJ Mea Bio**********
Méa Fisher is an American electronic music dj/vocalist born on April 10 in Kansas City, MO.
She established herself in the entertainment scene at a young age as a choreographer via gogo
dancing as well as in fashion as a co-founder of ultra-hip Kansas City clothing boutique,
Taste. Upon discovering her talent on the turntables, she sold her half of Taste, and moved to
Chicago to refine her dj skills. Making her way as a club kid at legendary Chicago nightspots
like Crobar, Shelter, and Karma, she eventually rose to fame as a sassy house music dj, who
knew how to work a crowd as well as the decks.
Hard work, radical sex appeal, and a dynamic stage presence paid off, and in 2001 she joined
the Funky Tekno Tribe Tour as the only female dj, playing alongside greats of the industry,
including Donald Glaude, DJ Sneak, and DJ Dan. When the Underground Construction label
discovered her powerful singing voice, they sent Méa to the studio with producer Spero Pagos,
which launched her in a career of singing and deejaying, combined. Her first song, “Better
Day,” was featured in the soundtrack for the film Intervention and spawned numerous remixes.
Next came her collaboration with legendary house singer, Ron Carroll, where she delivered
songs to the Soundmen On Wax label, and was featured as a special guest vocalist on DJ
Richard Vission’s CD, “Damn That DJ Made My Day” on Tommyboy Records. Méa eventually
met with famed producer and artist, Nynex, aka Josh Achtley, (I Will Never Be The Same) from
Los Angeles, where they would record many debut singles for Moonshine Music and Offworld
Records. Their first single, “Simplest of Things” released in led to a tour in itself.
With the addition of live vocals to her dj sets, Dj Méa became an international stage sensation,
touring the world as a solo performer. Her sound evolved with the times and her move to
Hollywood, where she discovered a darker version of herself and created her band
MeAndMyMachine, eventually attracting the attention of legendary sexed-up electrorock/
industrial band, Lords of Acid, who invited her to join their upcoming tour as lead singer.
Her collaboration with techno innovators, Lords of Acid, both on the 2011 tour and on their
latest studio album, just released, was an opportunity to explore new territory in the feminist
Despite her busy schedule, Méa continues to travel as a DJ as well as perform live shows
internationally, while continuously creating singles of her own and jingles for video games,
movies and television. Now preparing for the release of her solo album, Méa continues to
produce music from down-tempo, rock, ambient, electro to dubstep using her own voice as the
main attraction. Her most recent movie project is a movie clip score that lead to a soundtrack
single to the major motion picture, “Freelancer’s” starring Robert Deniro, Forest Whitaker & 50
Cent, releasing in 2012. She also recently produced 10 tracks for fighting sequences in the
video game, Girl Fight, due for 2012 release for X-box Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
After playing live at Coachella last year, Méa continues to create and perform, always
showcasing the writing and production skills that she has developed into a fine art, in both live
performances as well as her dj sets. She is currently producing a film score as well as the
music album for a CGI animated television series, "The Krepy's" that is in development with
Psylab Productions. She is also the voice of the leading starlet of the show.
“Visualizing music,” she says, “is just the beginning.”
