In 2004, San Francisco hosted the first annual North American Love Parade. We've watched as this great demonstration grew into a movement without words. A demonstration in favor rather than in opposition: in favor of peace, tolerance, mutual respect, happiness, freedom and mostly, in favor of love. Join us as the underground dance scene gets together to support something we all believe in. Together, through the music that we love so dearly, we will show the world that there is another way. Let's start by GIVING BACK THE LOVE.

SomArts (www.somarts.org) is 20,000 square foot non-profit cultural center that was the site of many legendary parties in the early years of the electronic dance scene. The parties were shut down in 1996 by the San Francisco Police Department because the building was not permitted for entertainment. Because of the lack of legal spaces and Somarts importance to the community, the San Francisco Late Night Coalition (www.sflnc.com) began a political push in 2000 to make SomArts legal for entertainment. The SFPD finally relented and granted all night entertainment permits for Somarts in 2003. Recently, Somarts underwent construction upgrades to create a higher occupancy, so the venue is now fully permitted for large events. This is the end of a ten year struggle, so in celebration, the SFLNC, Skills and many other groups are helping to raise funds to help pay for the building upgrades.
