Glenn Morrison is a true global music citizen, who is as comfortable tweaking the controls in the studio, as pushing the emotional envelope with an audience of thousands. Because, or perhaps despite, being a teenage classical piano competition winner (CMC, Kiwanis Music Festival, & ORMTA if you’re asking), he manages to combine his skill as a DJ with the craft of writer and producer.
Moving through the business at breakneck speed, Glenn is as comfortable in the studio as holding court behind the decks, and is supported in his production role with extensive plays from the creme-de-la-creme of the DJing community, including Armin Van Buuren, Justice, John Digweed, Laurent Garnier, Sasha, Tiesto, Sander Kleinenberg and Sven Vath, to name but a few. This skill in the production arena has meant numerous signings across a series of well regarded and ‘classic’ dance labels such as Sony Music, Universal, EMI, Armada, Bedrock, Platipus, Ultra, Ministry Of Sound, Poker Flat, Defected, Azuli, and many others.
Meet DJ/producer and electronic music sensation Matt Cerf. His first album with partners Shawn Mitiska and Jaren (Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren) is set to release in early 2010 on Armin Van Buuren's acclaimed Armada label. The hotly anticipated album will feature the hits “You Never Said” (nominated for a 2008 IDMA), “Man On The Run” (Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren's powerhouse collaboration with Dash Berlin), and “Beggin’ You”, tipped to be a massive hit (the Armin Van Buuren remix debuts on the Universal Religion compilation in September 2009)!
The French-Canadian producer/dj first made his mark in dance music as a member of Second Sun. In 2001, his track Empire caught the attention of mega producer/DJ Paul van Dyk. It was immediately signed to Vandit Records, landing the group instant notoriety and a spot on Quebec’s own Music Plus.
After a move from the snowy cityscape of Montreal to sun-drenched Los Angeles, Matt parted ways with Second Sun and embarked on a new direction with original productions like “Clearwater”, “Bent”, and “Miami Vice”. In 2004, he met producer/DJ Shawn Mitiska and the two started remixing tracks from the likes of Serge Devant, Eelke Kleijn, and Lange.
Is he really Swedish? The answer is unmistakably yes. Today, Swedish Egil is soaring ever higher on GROOVERADIO.COM and as DJ/Artist spinning at top clubs and events, and remixing records for Paul Oakenfold's PERFECTO label.
