Pro Blues Jam provides a platform for experienced musicians to come together, network, and showcase their skills, while also offering younger up-and-coming musicians the opportunity to collaborate with more seasoned players. We’ll aim to create a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere that fosters creativity, musical exploration, and a sense of community within the local blues scene. The music showcased during the jam would range from danceable blues, swing and surf to be-bop, early rock & roll and country.

Based upon the popular response from other long-running jams in the area at places like Club Fox in Redwood City, Murphy's Law in Sunnyvale, Eli's Mile High Club in Oakland, Long Board in Pacifica, and Little Lou’s in Campbell, the weekly jam would bring in a built-in audience of musicians who want to play and music lovers to enjoy the music and watch the performances. The established jams mentioned above have become weekly destinations for the people in the scene, and they typically stay longer. Many make it a point to have dinner at the venue to support those who support live music.

The pro blues jam at Hotel Utah Saloon will follow a well-tested format to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants and attendees. To set the tone and test the equipment, a house band composed of seasoned musicians will kick off the jam each week. Following the house band's performance, musicians will have the opportunity to sign up and join a rotating ensemble. Sets will typically consist of three or four songs, allowing for ample participation and variety.

Unlike open-mic events, pro jams are a great way for working musicians to come together, network, play with like minded players and experiment or push their limits. This would be inclusive of younger emerging musicians, who would be able to branch out and play with more experienced players. It's also an entertaining draw for the audience who comes to hear live music. To ensure the success of this weekly pro blues jam, we have devised a comprehensive promotion strategy that leverages the strengths of the local blues community and our personal networks.
