NINA DEL RIO

Instagram

Floating in the musical alchemy of Nina del Río is a passionate nostalgia, fusing Latin American folk music with jazz, r&b, and a touch of pop. With earnest, oftentimes playful lyrics, and a voice that has lovingly rooted itself in the delivery of artists like Mercedes Sosa, Billie Holiday, Daniel Caesar, and Rosalía, del Río’s influences are vehicles to creating dreamy soundscapes, unique to her artistic universe. She blends earthy acoustic instruments with textural electronic sounds, as reminiscent of a flowing river as it is of a bustling city. Wistfully and whimsically, she writes about healing, identity, and love in all of its forms.

Consistently rejecting the idea of being put in a box, Nina bends the limits of identity, finding the balance between authenticity and eclecticism. She believes in making things by hand: knitting hats, cooking soups, and giving her music the time and space it deserves to become its own entity. Slow-burning, her songs invite you to dance joyfully, but not before pausing to reflect. It’s music for the deeply introspective and emotionally unapologetic listener. She will inspire you to be exactly who you are, refusing the pressure to pin it down lineally while still having a sense of self-awareness, self-love, and the power that comes with that.

Listeners and fans describe Nina’s music as “world melding jazz and folk, neo-soul and pop into a magical, effortlessly cohesive soundscape”, praising vocals that “navigate intricate melodies, trilling and crooning about with ease.” As one commenter said, her voice is “spring water served in a crystal goblet”. She has reached over 150k streams to date on her self-released projects, and has played multiple sold-out headline shows in Buenos Aires in the past year.

Nina grew up between the worlds of Buenos Aires and Brooklyn, New York. As a child in a sun-filled house where Caetano Veloso, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell and Luis Alberto Spinetta were always playing, she became enamored with music at a young age. She attended the LaGuardia High School of Music, Art and the Performing Arts, and her adolescent years were profoundly informed by the vibrant jazz and DIY scenes of New York. During her time in Argentina, she studied with local folk musicians while also working and recording with artists such as Hernán Jacinto and Ezequiel Cantero. During her time at the Berklee College of Music, she has received recognition and awards, including a songwriting award at Berklee’s Career Jam Awards Show and a singer-songwriter scholarship. If you want to get to know Nina del Río, she enjoys making friends on the bus and also a healthy cry (though rarely in public, unless it’s the A Train, which is her favorite public crying spot). She is quite superstitious, believes in magic, and is also available to read your birth chart or tarot cards. Watch her 8-part vocal arrangement of Aca Seca Tríos’ “Paloma” here, or get a sneak peek at the music that is on its way here

AVANGELIA

Instagram

Avangelia is a 21 year old soul singer, introspective songwriter, live producer, entrancing performer and party host from Brooklyn, NY. She fuses her influences of RnB, Jazz, Folk, Rock and Blues to create her definition of Neo Soul; “a combination of everything that gives you a visceral feeling, no matter the roots''
With a grounding in Jazz and Classical training at the “FAME” LaGuardia High School for Performing Arts, she sustains an affinity for lush harmony and cinematic arrangements. Her live band is a group of her high school/college friends. She finds strength in her Brooklyn community, hosting house parties and creating DIY bills to support her musician circle. In December of 2022, she released her second single, “303” that features percussionist, Ralph Johnson, founding member of Earth Wind and Fire who was taken with her first single, “Wildflower” (produced with close collaborator, Corey Grimes).

To start 2024 with a healing message, she released 9 minute piece, “Gold (Feel It All)” co-written with bassist, Ean Valte hinting at the new sound her and her crew have created.

LILLIMURE

Instagram

Lillimure is a singer, songwriter, and producer based in NYC. Influenced by melodies of her multicultural upbringing, she draws from introspective lyricism and pulsing grooves for when you want to run away and find yourself at the same time. Lillimure’s genre-bending sound can be described as pop with a heavy sensibility to musicianship influenced by sounds from R&B, jazz, and folk to the likes of John Mayer, Tom Misch, and Emily King.

“They say everything happens for a reason, I don’t know if I believe it, but at least it’s something to hold on to,” sings the audience at the end of every Lillimure show. Upon further thought, this catchy little phrase has become a testament of resilience, and adaptability throughout the young artists’ life. Her journey began as a songwriter with her first single “Summer Blues” in 2017. Earlier this year, her band submitted to NPR's 2024 Tiny Desk Contest with a recent single "Favorite Song," (2023) and are currently touring the release of her latest single "Lately," released earlier this month. Written amidst the uncertainty of the pandemic in a mostly empty Manhattan, Lillimure writes about longing, the fear that comes with vulnerability and the love that ultimately triumphs and pushes through. Lillimure’s music has made its way to many stages including locally at the Pleasantville Music Festival, The Mercury Lounge opening for Sadie Leigh, Kiltro, and Eaglin, and her annual return to the New York Botanical Gardens, and internationally at Sofar London and Salotto Di Alice in Naples, Italy.

Her upcoming body of work surrounds the emotions of knowing people and places for a brief period of time, and keeping those memories close as the pages turn. Find her on all social media @lillimure to keep up with her latest projects!
