The Reverend Shawn Amos & The Brotherhood is a deep roots collaboration between the blues singer-songwriter and harmonica player and some old friends: drummer Brady Blade (Indigo Girls, Buddy & Julie Miller), bassist Christopher “CT” Thomas (Melody Gardot, Norah Jones, Macy Gray), and longtime Rev guitarist Chris “Doctor” Roberts.

The Brotherhood first teamed up on the Rev’s Mindi Abair-produced 2015 debut blues LP, The Reverend Shawn Amos Loves You. They gathered again for the 2020 release, Blue Sky. The album features a scorching duet with Grammy nominee, Ruthie Foster, and debuted at number 6 on the Billboard Blues Chart. During Covid lockdown, The Rev and The Doctor holed up to record The Cause Of It All, a collection of blues standards in classic Sonny Terry/Brownie McGhee, Junior Wells/Buddy Guy form. Also, while off the road, The Rev wrote his first novel, Cookies & Milk, published by Little, Brown & Co. on May 17, 2022.

The Rev and The Brotherhood are mainstays on blues radio and crowd favorites at blues and roots festivals across US and Europe. They’ve shared billings with Joe Bonamassa , Keb’ Mo’ John Mayall, Shemekia Copeland, Deva Mahal, James Hunter and Marcus King delivering a proudly non-guitar hero approach to blues music.
