Caspa, also known as Gary McCann, is almost always a recognizable name in the world of dubstep. He got his start when a basketball injury to the shoulder drove him to focus his energy into music. His father was a record collector and his older brothers were into hip-hop so his musical taste became quite eclectic. Under the name Quiet Storm, his first alias, he made a tune called ‘Bass Bins’, which was picked up by BBC 1xtra’s DJ Da Flex who showcased on his Underground Knowledge Show in 2003. In 2004, McCann started a record label focusing on Grime and Dubstep artists called Storming Productions. In 2006, he also joined Stingray Records. Caspa later started a sister label to his original Storming Productions, the now renowned Dub Police imprint.

Since 2004, he has released a whopping 23 EP’s and singles. His debut album, “Everybody’s Talking, Nobody’s Listening,” was released on Caspa’s own label, Sub Soldiers/Fabric Records. His remix of Deadmau5’s I remember is a definite gem among his many remixes he has put out. He is still pumping out the grimey dubstep with his most recent EP, “Sell Out”, which was put out on his label Sub Soldiers. His most recent US tour called Dubstep Sessions is making it’s stop in Dallas, Texas at the world famous Lizard Lounge on November 9th, 2012 thanks to Afterdark Dallas Entertainment. The bass will be pumping and the crowd will be wild!
