Far from being a sad end and afterthought to summer, September 2010 is looking to slot in an autumn that’s aurally astounding.  This is due in no small part to Vanguard LA’s deliciously devious agenda to rock partygoers to their fun-loving core with a slyboots set-up of two seriously anticipation-worthy Vanguard Friday events.  In plain English, Vanguard Friday is going to rock your 6-ply socks off come September 3rd and 10th.  What you’re looking at are two separate nights headlining with two of dance music’s super legit legends—the big Buddha of house DJ Sneak and Brighton’s very own breakbeat superstar Krafty Kuts.

Besides being über awesome in their own rights and recognized as penultimate stewards of sound, Sneak (a.ka. Carlos Sosa) and Krafty Kuts (a.k.a. Martin Reeves) are at second glance, two DJs with a whole lot in common.  Staying power for example.  To say either have been exemplary examples of staying power is to say Moby Dick was just a fish.  As fickle history has shown us, DJs have come and DJs have certainly gone.  Some shoot to fame overnight and subsequently spiral down a rocky road of shame or throw in the towel and give into fleeting trends only to lose their once infallible knack for sound.  Through it all, Sneak and Krafty Kuts have kept their heads above the water and rode the tenuous waves with an integrity, passion and dedication to beats they could believe in and in which fans have given them major props for.

Credited with being a driving force to Chicago’s underground house scene and revolutionizing the genre with his signature filtered style—spawning countless copycats and inspiring as many of today’s big names (Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, and Armand Van Helden)—in the decades he’s been bumping crowds up with vibrant grooves and beats, Sneak has kept it real and garnered a sincere and huge following of rabidly-reverent fans.

Krafty Kuts too is no laughing matter. Rumored to have reached the finals of a DJ competition with no previous DJ experience at the tender age of 12, Reeves has proved a shining example of potential recognized.  With a slew of much-lauded tracks under his belt, a record label of his own, and too many memorable stints to count, the prolific DJ and producer can also cite his talents behind big-brand efforts (Coca-Cola, Playstation 2, and a Guy Ritchie film).

Sneak rocks the Vanguard September 3rd along with Wally Callerio, DJ Mes, Hector Moralez, Deejay Cocoe, and Josh One while Reeves kicks it up Krafty on September 10th with Keith Mackenzie, Breakdown, Jaime Narvaez, Stires, and DJ Wish.  With such a sweet set-up, September is looking something fierce for Vanguard Fridays.  It’s time to get your Krafty Sneak on and hit up one of Hollywood’s hottest spots!
