In the wake of the 21st Century, most of us find ourselves no part of the toil and moil of our forebears who scraped ground, hewed wood, and wrangled animals all to the tune of the shining sun to get food on the table.  Instead of sweat-inducing physical labor we find our livelihoods now more sedentary with heavy-lifting confined to such activities as power-typing, brainy thinking, and rolling around the floor in wheeled office chairs.  As this torpid state of affairs hurls us relentlessly towards a future of atrophying muscles and indolent doom, it’s reassuring to know that there is still something out there ready to save us from jelly-weak limbs—dance music.

With the admirable agenda to get feet moving, bodies shuffling, heads bobbing and arms waving of their own accord, dance music succeeds where gym commercials fail.  Basically, it makes moving one heck of a happy party you actually want to be a part of.  And looking after the state of those office and schoolroom weakened arms ‘n’ legs is Fridays at Vanguard LA.  With a heady rotation of stellar DJs each week, Vanguard LA offers a feverishly fierce Friday filled with grooves to get your boogie on.  This September 24th welcomes angelic-voiced queen of house music Colette and funky-beats and energetic house embedder & spreader Chuck Love.  Joining the two will be Andy Compton with a Droid Behavior hosted area featuring RAiZ aka Acid Circus, Dean Paul vs Vik Carrillo and DJ Modesty.  Added to the uplifting grooves is Vanguard’s top of the line sound system and slick settings—no less the perfect combo of elements to get anyone off their chair-molded behind to work up a happy sweat.  Let your dance muscles rip!
